Broadway-trained officiant crafting personalized ceremonies in Milwaukee, WI.
"If I could give 1000 stars I would! Schwa wrote us the most touching, beautiful ceremony."
Lindsay Behen
Every ceremony Schwa Potter writes is built from scratch around one couple. No template, no reused script, no generic blessings dropped in to fill time. The result is a 5 to 25 minute ceremony that couldn't work for anybody but you, with humor, real story, and the occasional happy tear earned the right way.
Schwa is Milwaukee-based and has performed 300+ ceremonies since 2015. He specializes in LGBTQ+ weddings, interfaith and multicultural ceremonies, and elopements where simple still gets to feel special. Ordained through the Universal Life Church since 2012, with a Broadway background that taught him how to tell a story and read a room.
Working with Schwa starts with a conversation, then a separate Zoom with each partner so the script reflects how you actually talk about each other. Edits are unlimited until the words feel right. On the day, he shows up early, in a suit, ready to roll with whatever the venue throws at him.
Two ceremony packages, built around what the day actually needs.

Most couples book 6 to 12 months out, especially for peak season weddings between May and October when Saturdays go fast. Shorter timelines are absolutely welcome too. Schwa has officiated ceremonies booked a week out, 24 hours out, and same-day with a marriage license already in hand. Reach out whenever you have your date and we'll go from there.
Every Signature Ceremony is written from scratch. The process starts with separate Zoom conversations with each partner, so Schwa hears how you each talk about the relationship, then he builds the script around what comes out of those calls. No two ceremonies look alike, and the goal is always a script that couldn't work for anybody but you.
Yes. Interfaith, multicultural, LGBTQ+, and fully secular ceremonies are right in his wheelhouse. He can blend traditions from different backgrounds, fold in rituals like handfasting, unity ceremonies, or readings, or skip religious elements entirely if that's what you want. Your call, every step.
